SEC Paves Way For Asset Backed Tokens
In a move that could entice people to local assets, the Securities and Exchange Comission is processing applications for Digital Exchanges on a trial basis.
SEC is considering permitting tokenized offerings on licensed digital exchanges, that are backed by assets including property, Abdulkadir Abbas, Head of Securities and Investment Services at SEC said. Other countries including Singapore, are currently embarking on similar projects.
